EspañolAn employee of BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd. (51% owned by BASF) at the Changsha base was seriously injured while cleaning the sleeper mixer. The employee was immediately sent to the nearest tertiary hospital for emergency treatment, but unfortunately died after being rescued. We are deeply saddened by this incident and express sincere condolences and support to his family.
Recently, the relevant accident investigation team in Changsha City released the accident investigation report. The cause of the accident was a malfunction of the safety interlock facilities of the horizontal mixer equipment in the workshop while waiting for cleaning, and the operators in the same group as the employee did not operate according to regulations, resulting in this casualty accident.
BASF Shanshan always prioritizes safety management. After the accident, the company immediately conducted in-depth safety hazard investigation in production bases in Changsha and Ningxia, formulated and implemented multiple measures, and improved employees' safety literacy through strengthened training. We have learned from this accident and further strengthened safety management and implementation to avoid the recurrence of safety accidents.
